Qigong Massage

Qigong massage is a combination of Qigong practice, remedial massage, and acupressure techniques, where soft or firm pressure is applied to specific areas in order to alleviate tension in the muscles to improve posture and flexibility and reduce the severity of musculoskeletal problems.


The overall goal of Qigong massage is to provide relief from pain, insomnia, and tension as well as increase energy levels to promote general wellbeing. With the circulation of blood, the immune cells throughout the Lymphatic system can be improved through the acupressure points.


Qigong massage is appropriate for all people and can address achieving a deeper sleep, increase energy through delivering more oxygen to the tissues, improving blood circulation, achieving a tranquil mind and a sense of calm, balancing and enhancing the body’s natural healing abilities, improving metabolism, balancing emotions, reducing chronic pain, improving digestion and lowering incidences of a stroke.


This ancient Chinese healing method aims to bring effective pain relief to a variety of conditions, including tension-related ailments, lower back pain, and stomach aches.

It is believed that when stimulated through massage, the meridian points in the body are released to help clear blockages and promote good energy flow. Acupressure massage involves pressure to these meridian points to stimulate blood circulation and enhance the body’s life force energy and aid in healing.

Acupressure is perfect for relieving pain, but can also help manage nausea and vomiting, balance the body’s energy and enable deep relaxation. It also promotes overall wellness and boosts the immune systems, strengthening resistance to conditions such as chronic muscular pain, anxiety, fatigue, emotional imbalances and much more.

Relaxation Massage

Focus on eliminating the stresses of daily life while you quiet the noise in your mind and drift off to a world of peace, tranquility, and harmony.

Relaxation massage involves the use of smooth, gliding and gentle strokes to ease away tension in the body, while stimulating sensory nerves endings in the skin, transmitting messages through the nervous system, causing the brain to release endorphins.

Relaxation massage is suitable for everyone as it offers less emphasis on releasing knots or adhesions in the muscle tissue and focuses more on improving overall health and wellbeing such as peripheral circulation, skin tone and appearance and improving bowel movements and reducing some muscle tension.

The feel-good effects in endorphins facilitate a sense of wellbeing, providing a wonderfully light feeling the end of the massage.

Remedial Massage

Experience deep relaxation and stress relief of the body through the manipulation of soft tissue joints to regain mobility and flexibility.


By using specific hand movements and varying degrees of pressure, remedial massage assists with breaking down scar tissue to increase blood flow and encourage lymphatic drainage of swelling and waste products in the body.


Remedial massage helps to remove damaged cells, blockages and scar tissue to help speed up and aid the recovery of sprains, strains, bruising, broken bones, repetitive strain injury, and chronic muscular-skeletal imbalances.


Developed in 1922 by Dr Mikao Usui, Reiki healing is used to promote a sense of calm while enhancing general wellness. This Japanese hands-on, holistic healing system involves the transfer of ‘qi’, or the universal energy, through the palms of the practitioner to encourage healing.


Using gentle hand pressures placed on different areas of the body, energy is transferred in and around the body to channel energies and work to balance the mental, emotional, physical and spiritual chakras.


Reiki healing brings on restorative effects, leaving you feeling deeply relaxed with a sense of mental clarity around challenges in life, and is perfect to address stress, insomnia, back, neck and shoulder pain, as well as anxiety, depression or grief.

Qigong Exercises

Known as the mother of Healing in Traditional Chinese Medicine, Qigong is a holistic practice that cultivates and balances the ‘qi’ - the life force energy that flows through the universe. Combining ‘qi’ with ‘gong’, meaning accomplishments of skills that are cultivated through steady practise, Qigong results in a deeply spiritual exercise that can increase vitality.


Qigong focuses on natural therapies such as physical exercises and breathing techniques to promote healing by creating a balance of Yin and Yang. Qigong can enhance the immune system, build internal strength and increase general well-being. It also includes meditation techniques which can reduce stress and anxiety while developing spiritual perception.


Harmonia Health’s Qigong classes involve practicing slow, gentle movements that contribute to one’s physical, spiritual, emotional and psychological health.


Benefits of Qigong exercises include enhanced physical balance, especially for older adults where research fall-related injuries are the leading cause of death, improved coordination, improved blood circulation, increased flexibility, improved muscular strength and endurance, increased aerobic capacity for older adults and a reduction in high blood pressure.


We hold Qigong classes every Thursday evening at 7pm. 




Meditation is an age-old practice originating from various Eastern cultures. This beautiful mind training process allows one to achieve a mental state of peace and tranquility through turning the mind inwards and focusing on a singular thought.


Through meditation, the mind can learn to refocus its energy and attention to cultivate positive thought patterns and ways of being. Practised regularly, meditation can build internal energy (qi) to promoting relaxation to develop patience, compassion, forgiveness, and generosity.


Mediation aims to relieve anxiety, stabilises emotions, develops intuition, can achieve mental clarity and peace of mind, sharpens the mind, can increase creativity, expenses consciousness to facilitate learning and enhances overall wellness to increase happiness.


Additionally, meditation can lower high blood pressure, strengthen the immune system, increase serotonin production to elevate better moods and behaviors, can lower the levels of blood lactate to reduce anxiety attacks, and decrease tension ailments such as insomnia, muscle and joint problems, tension headaches and ulcers.
